Today, on November 9th at the 2014 Governors Awards, Hayao Miyazaki received an honorary Oscar. The honor was being presented as a means of recognizing the hard work done and the many years of Miyazaki’s wonderful animated films. This will be the second Oscar that Miyazaki has been awarded, the first being in 2003 for the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film for Spirited Away. Miyazaki has mentioned in the past that he plans on continuing making animated films and has no intention on stopping.
