Episode 7: School Trip Time/1st Period
As you might be able to tell by the episode title, “School Trip Time/1st Period” takes the class of 3-E away from the school and into the wild for a field trip to Kyoto and it’s a welcome change of pace.
Of course, I wasn’t the only one excited about the prospect. The class was as well — especially Koro Sensei, who creates a lengthy tour guide by hand and distributes it to each and every member of the class.
It seems like a rather large book to lug around at first but it quickly becomes useful towards the end of the episode when two of their classmates are kidnapped by troublesome high schoolers.
It’s a little scary that they would kidnap them in the first place but that’s exactly what happens. Thankfully Koro Sensei is able to save them with the help of Nagisa. who actually decided to make use of his guide book in order to call him.
This isn’t the best episode yet, but there are some good moments. I like the level of conflict that they seem to manage to be able to get themselves into. But it begs the question — isn’t Koro Sensei a state secret?
How can he reveal himself to these high school kids? It’s been mentioned regularly throughout the series so far that Koro Sensei can’t be discovered and yet he goes out on a limb to save his class.
He does have a veil over his face, but is that really enough to avoid them noticing the tentacles? Probably not. But then, Assassination Classroom is an anime, so it doesn’t have to make sense — or not yet at least.
Maybe he’ll get scolded soon but it seems like the class would be in real big trouble if it weren’t for him. I like Koro Sensei a lot as a character, so I hope he doesn’t get into too much trouble. Seeing as how he’s the face of the series though, it seems unlikely.
This wasn’t a bad episode. In fact, it may be one of the most exciting. There are some funny moments and even a little bit of Koro Sensei in between. But there’s also a lot of conflict — real confict, and that’s something you don’t often see when they’re in the classroom.Tweet
