Now that the full album of cosplayers is out, it is time for us to decide on our favorites while at Starfest 2016. Everyone had great outfits at Starfest this year and it is always great fun going out and meeting everyone. We hope to see you all next year!
7. Dr. Doom – Fantastic 4
There is nothing quite as classic as a good Dr. Doom cosplay. This cosplayer’s green outfit is made out of a plethora of different materials but assembled in a way that pays the perfect homage to the original Dr. Doom from the Fantastic 4 (no, not two terrible live-action films that have come out in the past ten years).
6. Liara T’Soni – Mass Effect
Whether people know it or not, all of us at BentoByte are massive fans of the Mass Effect series (yes even the end of Mass Effect 3, we know there were flaws but love it anyway). At any rate, this absolutely killer. Not only is Liara T’Soni an awesome character but this cosplay takes a lot of work in terms of makeup skills which is why we had to include it in our list.
5. Nebula – Guardians of the Galaxy
Nebula is one hell of a villain in the Guardians of the Galaxy film and even a bigger monster to cosplay as. Getting the headpiece, the and makeup just right can be a real challenge.
4. We Aren’t Sure What This is From
Sorry everyone, we are not sure what this outfit is from. However, we still think it is really well done and worth including within the list. We enjoyed how well the outfit was crafted. If this cosplayer is reading this list though, send us an email or leave us a comment and let us know what it is from!
3. Oogie Boogie and Jack Skellington – The Nightmare Before Christmas
Oogie Boogie and Jack Skellington are definitive fixers in the cosplay/con/nerd world, and seeing great ones in the wild are always a treat. The amount of work that went in to Oogie’s face is incredibly accurate and we thoroughly enjoyed how well it stood out.
2. Dr. Neo Cortex – Crash Bandicoot
Nothing hits us in the nostalgia quite like Crash Bandicoot, and this kid nailed it on the head. For as many times as we have faced off against Neo Cortex in the battle of good and evil. And they have always been enjoyable. So it is great to see the Crash Bandicoot universe live on in a younger generation. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go play Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped.
1. John Snow – Game of Thrones
Disputes aside about the choices and livelihood of John Snow as a character, this Game of Thrones cosplay was one of the best crafted cosplays we saw while at Starfest 2016. The intricacies that went into the outfit, the coat/cape, and the sword itself made this one really pop. Not to mention, the cosplayer himself looks like John Snow to boot. So bravo, you certainly put in a lot of effort into the cosplay and it shows!
