The Kingdom Hearts HD Remix series is about to make the jump to PS4, which is great news for both new fans of the series and fans who want to relive the franchise before jumping into the third main entry in the series. Rather than port over Kingdom Hearts HD Remix 1.5 and 2.5 separately, Square Enix will be releasing the games together for the PS4 as Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix.

Both games will come on one disc, and include the same content as the PS3 versions. So if you’re satisfied with your PS3 copy of the game, then no need to upgrade, although there’s probably a slight bump in graphical fidelity. Then again, what better way to celebrate the franchise’s 15th anniversary than to own the entire series on the PS4?

The news also comes with a trailer, which you can check out below.

One issue worth noting is that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix won’t release in time for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, which means that if you still haven’t caught up with the franchise you might want to pick them up together when Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix launches on March 28, 2017.

If you’re not familiar with the HD Remix collections, here’s what you can expect to find contained in Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix, courtesy of Square Enix:

KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 ReMix

  • KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX
  • KINGDOM HEARTS Re:Chain of Memories
  • KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days (HD remastered cinematics)

KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.5 ReMIX

  • KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX
  • KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX
  • KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded

Speaking of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, an accompanying trailer for that installment has been released today as well. You can check that out below.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue will hit shelves on January 24, 2017. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix will follow a couple months later on March 28, 2017. Both titles are currently exclusive to the PlayStation 4.
