Life in Animation and Working in Entertainment with Samantha Inoue-Harte

While attending a new Con in Colorado (Anime Southwest) we had the opportunity to sit down and have an interview with Samantha Inoue-Harte. She has been a voice actress in works such as Final Fantasy: Unlimited, Sakura Wars, Trinity Blood, and Fairy Tail. Samantha is not only an accomplished voice actress, but also an animator. Over the course of her career we got a little insight into everything that goes behind animation (even the less than pleasant aspects). Check out the interview in the video below: Due to some unforeseen circumstances the interview was cut short. However, we will be releasing the second part as well as it including Blake Shepard hopefully soon. Subscribe...

Snape-ricot Beer Unveiled for Denver Comic Con

In a perfect homage to the late and great Alan Rickman, Denver Comic Con and Breckenridge Brewery unveiled their newest DCC themed brew, “Snape-ricot”. The beer is described as a “refreshingly crisp apricot lager.” Naturally, the beer will be available while at the 2016 Denver Comic Con (after you get through all the long beer lines). Snape-ricot will be debuting at it’s release party at Stoney’s Bar and Grill on Friday, May 20th, at 7:30 p.m. The first 200 people to order a Snape-ricot will be given a limited edition pint glass courtesy of Denver Comic Con and Breckenridge Brewery. Every since 2012, all of the names have been rather clever, check...

Starfest 2016 Thoughts & Impressions

You know you have hit an interesting point in your life when you are seated at a bar debating Star Wars lore between a cosplayer dressed a Zap Brannigan on one side and Harley Quinn on the other. But that is just how life is in Denver over the weekend at a con. Welcome to Starfest 2016, one of Denver’s oldest cons. Due to renovations this year, the location for Starfest 2016 was a tad different this year. This year’s Star Trek (and really any space science fiction) con relocated to a hotel near Denver International Airport. According to onsite staff, the Crown Plaza (where this one is held) is the original location of...

Top 7 Cosplays of Starfest 2016

Now that the full album of cosplayers is out, it is time for us to decide on our favorites while at Starfest 2016. Everyone had great outfits at Starfest this year and it is always great fun going out and meeting everyone. We hope to see you all next year! 7. Dr. Doom – Fantastic 4 There is nothing quite as classic as a good Dr. Doom cosplay. This cosplayer’s green outfit is made out of a plethora of different materials but assembled in a way that pays the perfect homage to the original Dr. Doom from the Fantastic 4 (no, not two terrible live-action films that have come out in the...

The Cosplayers of Starfest 2016

Now this year at Starfest in Denver Colorado, we tried to get as many pictures as possible of all the cosplayers that were there in attendance. We were not able to get them all, and some of the pictures did make the cut (that is our bad). Below is are all the folks we met. If you see a picture of yourself and would like a high resolution copy, send us a message over at info@bentobyte.co. Check it out below:   As always, we will be posting these images on our Facebook page so that you all can tag yourselves from the weekend’s activities!

A Series of Unfortunately Random Questions with Arryn Zech

While at attendance at Denver’s annual Starfest, we had a quick moment to sit down and chat with the lovely Arryn Zech. Arryn is the voice behind popular characters such as Blake Belladonna in RWBY and Dr. Emily Grey in Red vs. Blue. She is currently residing in Los Angeles but is still heavily involved with RWBY. Now, we only had a mere five minutes to sit down with Arryn so we were not able to get every question we had hoped for in. Either way, check out our interview with her below: It was particularly fun getting to know Arryn Zech, and we were glad we were able to ask everything like prying questions...

I Went to My First Convention and It Was Katsucon

A few weeks ago, I went to Katsucon over in Maryland. I’ve abstained from writing about it for the time being because I was going to another anime convention after that one, so I wanted to let the convention hype die down before I focused and actually sat myself in front of a computer screen to write about this. It’s a good thing I did because now I’m able to separate the two experiences, with one event providing insight for the other. But this is about Katsucon. And Katsucon was my first anime convention…ever. Now, some of you might be thinking, “Hey, don’t you write about anime professionally and waste...

A Sit Down Interview with Chris Patton

While at Colorado Anime Fest, we had an opportunity to sit down with Chris Patton and have a little chat. Chris Patton is the voice actor behind famous works such as: Greed in Fullmetal Alchemist, Sousuke Sagara from Full Metal Panic!, Rentaro Satomi from Black Bullet, Run from Akame ga Kill!, and Hajime Aoyama from Ghost Stories. So, naturally we had to ask him a few questions with regards to what goes on behind the scenes during a voice actor recording session. Check out the video below for the interview: What did you think of the interview? Let us know in the comments below! Think we should ask other questions next time? Again, let us know and we...

The Cosplayers of Katuscon 2016

From February 12th through February 14th, BentoByte attended Katsucon 2016 at the Gaylord Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. We had an absolute blast meeting so many different people and coming together as a community. The convention had its ups and downs (there was a small kitchen fire that caused the entire convention to be evacuated for about an hour) but all in all it was a fun convention. Below are some notable images taken over the three day span with various cosplay ranging from Star Wars to League of Legends. Kuzco himself even made an appearance and caused the crowd to go into a hilarious uproar. Hopefully, we here at BentoByte...

An Interview with Matt Mercer

While hanging out at Colorado Anime Fest we met up with Matt Mercer to discuss the finer things in life like: eating dessert only at Casa Bonita, shameless plugs, and boning characters in Attack on Titan. For those who do not know, Matt Mercer is a voice actor portraying favorite characters such as Captain Levi in Attack on Titan, Kiritsugu Emiya in Fate/Zero, and Trafalgar Law in One Piece. Besides his charming personality we elected to dive a bit deeper into the life of being a voice actor in the video below: Image source

The Cosplayers of Colorado Anime Fest 2016

So after meandering about at the first (confirmed) annual Colorado Anime Fest we took pictures of all the lovely folks we met. Now unfortunately, due to a setting on my camera there were a couple of cosplayers that I wasn’t able to develop the photos of. So for those not included, I do apologize. That being said though, scope the rest of the awesome folks below:   Of course we will post all the images to our Facebook page, so should you want to tag yourself, you can certainly do so. If you are any of the folks in this album and want a copy of a higher res image send us...

Top 10 Reasons To Go To a Con

After attending my first convention this weekend with a couple of members from the BentoByte team, I was able to understand the hype behind going to conventions. We have compiled a list of the top 10 reasons why we think you need to check one out ASAP. A place that you can meet people with the same interest as you. Going to a convention it is amazing to see people come out of their shells and enjoy being around people that have the same interests as you do. The open community that surrounds these conventions is amazing to see how open people are with complete strangers. It does not matter...

NDK Day 3 Cosplayers

As the con began to slow down, we still had a great opportunity to see more cosplayers. It may have been the last day of Nan Desu Kan, but everyone was still out and about flooding the 16th street mall in downtown Denver. Below are the people we met while attending NDK day 3! We were very lucky to meet such wonderful people and have an opportunity to get to know everyone and discuss our collective love of anime. As NDK day 3 came to a close, we at BentoByte can say that we had a ton of fun getting to see all the hard work everyone has been putting...

NDK Day 2 Cosplayers

Here is our NDK day 2 compilation album. To reiterate what we said in our last post, if we don’t know what an outfit is from and you do, leave us a comment so we can update it. Once all three days of images have been uploaded, we will post all the pictures across our social media sites. What were some of your favorites? Let us know in the comments below!

NDK Day 1 Cosplayers

This weekend was Nan Desu Kan here in Denver. While out and about we met some spectacular people and saw some intricate and fun cosplays. Below are some of the people we met while at NDK day 1 of the event! Now I am not always an expert on which shows, games, or other media source all of these characters derive from, so if you do, let us know in the comments so we can update the images. Over the next couple of days we will also be uploading these images across our many social media sites. So if you want to tag yourself, tag away!
