Candy Japan Review

We’ve done quite a few reviews for subscription based services catering to those looking to have Japanese candy delivered right to their doorstep. But there are still more out there and I have made it my mission to review all of the things. This time, I decided to look into reviewing Candy Japan which offers bi-monthly deliveries for the price of $25/month. The biggest question, however, is whether or not it’s worth it, so let’s take a look. First off, we have the box and the contents because the box is an important part of presentation. There’s not a lot to look at here, but you don’t subscribe to a service for...

Denver Comic Con Reveals “Hulk’s Mash” Beer

In a press release made today, Denver Comic Con has unveiled the DCC official Breckenridge Brewery beer: Hulk’s Mash. The name for the beer came from a contest from Breckenridge Brewery called “Name the Comic Con Beer,” from a group of 700 submissions five were chosen and given to the public to be voted on. The label was sponsored and create by the students over at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD). The official label is shown below: Denver Comic Con describes the beer as: The beer is delightful pale ale made with mango puree and Mosaic hops. It sounds mild-mannered, but don’t be fooled. Mosaic hops produce an aromatic...

Oyatsu Box Review

It’s time for another subscription review, and this time we’ll be looking at Oyatsu Box. Before I begin, I’d like to mention that there’s something unique about Oyatsu Box. Whereas most subscription services are located in the United States, Oyatsu Box actually ships their boxes from Japan. You might think that’s a negative because of the extended shipping time, and it might be, but I think it’s an interesting change of pace. They also do something special with their boxes, though. While Oyatsu Box promises over a pound of snacks in their traditional full-size box, they also throw in something a little extra that you don’t traditionally see from other...

Oishii Box Review

It’s time for another subscription box review in my long quest to determine what the best box for your money is, and this time I’m going to be having a look at Oishii Box which is a smaller subscription service whose goal it is to spread Asian culture and perhaps more importantly help pay for their college tuition. That was the first thing that caught my eye about Oishii Box and made me gravitate toward reviewing it. Everyone knows that college tuition is expensive these days, and it makes for a great backstory for an up and coming company. But, how is the actual box, and what can you expect...

Skoshbox Review

There are a plethora of subscription services out there nowadays, and as it turns out, there are several devoted entirely to sending Japanese snacks directly to your doorstep for a small fee. Skoshbox is one such box. Previously in November I gave a look at Japan Crate, another box that also offers up Japanese snacks for a flat monthly fee and I thought to myself, why stop there? So I’ve made it my mission to compile a list of subscription services that you, our humble readers would enjoy. Skoshbox is the next item on our list, and while they didn’t have any of their latest and largest box called the Dekabox...

Japan Crate Review

It’s a wonderful time we live in when you can simply subscribe to whatever service you like and receive items on a monthly basis. It’s becoming more and more common, whether it’s Dollar Shave Club or the wildly popular Loot Crate. Of course, there are probably an infinite number of examples that I could give you — but Loot Crate was the first subscription service that I came upon. While the subscription model is booming, so too are crates. Do you have too much money and not enough stuff? Well then maybe you’d like to sign up to receive a crate from one of the many fine purveyors of crates....
