Shawn Wasabi is Back with “Spicy Boyfriend”

If you read our prior post on Shawn Wasabi you would already know that we are big fans of his work as well as other artists like him. His rhythm on the Midi Fighter 64 is not a skill that a lot of artists have. Which is why some of us flock to his work and watch his YouTube channel like a hawk. After what has felt like forever (since Burnt Rice which was released in 2015) we have been finally graced with a new full track and video to accompany it. Check it out below, called “SPICY BOYFRIEND”. And in the last hour he has released a quick preview of...

BentoByte Artist Spotlight: Ananda Beats

Whether you are aware of it or not, but Denver Colorado is a little hot bed of music. From our world famous Red Rocks Amphitheater to the dark and dirty venues of the High-Dive and Larimer Lounge, there are a lot of opportunities to see new music. This time around though we are going to focus on one of them, Ananda Beats. Ananda is a local producer who utilizes Japanese influences to create his mellow tracks (if you couldn’t already tell by the use of the Kitsune masks). His tracks have all been low key and chill trap tracks in the past, and with his latest single “Only Us” nothing...

Artist Spotlight: daydreamer

For those still jazzed about the “Shelter” animation, have we got a treat for you this week. Meet daydreamer, an artist that has a similar style to Porter Robinson. This airy synthpop/electro will surely take you on a journey for the brief 6 songs that are on the “Senses” EP. Check it out below: Now daydreamer also does few remixes, I would not necessarily recommend a few of them (there is a lot of sections where you can hear elements of the track clipping which could be a stylistic thing), but a really fun one is his(her?) remix of Madeon below: What did you all think? Let us know in...

TeddyLoid and DAOKO Release New Music Video

TeddyLoid has always had a soft spot in our hearts. From the Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt soundtrack to the anime epic video of ME!ME!ME! we have come to always expect something heavy and a tad bizarre. Which is why his latest high production video that he does the music for is no different. You may remember DAOKO and TeddyLoid were teaming up for Project HAL. Well now it appears that they have done the newly released video to the same track. You can check it out below:

Porter Robinson’s Shelter Anime Finally Arrives

The wait is finally over, Porter Robinson and Madeon’s Shelter: The Animation has finally arrived. The animation is as brilliant as we can expect from Studio A-1. This dystopian storyline blends perfectly well with the track, all culminated into the vibrant color of the video. Porter Robinson describes the story as: Shelter tells the story of Rin, a 17-year-old girl who lives her life inside of a futuristic simulation completely by herself in infinite, beautiful loneliness. Each day, Rin awakens in virtual reality and uses a tablet which controls the simulation to create a new, different, beautiful world for herself. Until one day, everything changes, and Rin comes to learn the true origins...

BentoByte Sunday Sounds Volume 28

After a brief escape and last minute trip to the European Union, we are back in full swing. This time around we have highlighted the new Justice track as well as other solid tracks. Another one within this playlist that is worth mentioning is an artist that goes be the name of Nick Murphy. This artist, formally known as Chet Faker, is looking to develop his sound in a new direction. If this track is any indication of what is to come, then consider us very excited. If you take anything away from the playlist this time, is that it should be a solid one to study or do intensive...

Porter Robinson Teams Up With Studio A-1 For An Animation

That is right everyone. The studio behind recent work such as Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend, Erased, and Occultic;Nine are going to be teaming up with Porter Robinson.  In an announcement made on Porter Robinson’s facebook page (see below), came the news that the two will be teaming up for an animation. This animation will tie in with Porter Robinson and Madeon’s recent tour called “Shelter.” The animation will be debuting on October 18th, so get hyped people! This is incredibly exciting as Porter Robinson is notorious for utilizing animated visuals and various Japan inspired themes. So it comes as no surprise, but that just means that everyone will get to experience...

Track Spotlight: EUNG FREESTYLE (응프리스타일)

Fresh Flows From Korea Whilst stumbling through countless subreddits and site to find some new tracks, we came across this. Say hello to “EUNG FREESTYLE (응프리스타일)” a fire track all the way from South Korea. No real way to describe other than to just tell you to check it out. Not only is the flow solid but the visuals are very reminscent of Jack Ü’s “Take Ü There”. So suffice to say, we approve. Be sure to check in with us each week for more tracks and tunes that are sure to come. We cover everything from synthwave to hip-hop, we love it all.

Artist Spotlight: Crystal Castles

The future of Crystal Castles has always been an unsure one. After Alice Glass’s departure in 2014, it seemed that the duo was finished. Skip forward one year later and lo and behold, Ethan Kath released “Frail” in April of 2015.  Signifying that Crystal Castles wasn’t finished meant that we can expect a new album (hopefully) this year. So what makes Crystal Castles so great? Their music is something that isn’t terribly common within the electronic world. Sure, there are boat loads of melancholic music to pick from, but something about the dark and lo-fi tones and high energy vocals of Crystal Castles that carved them a path in the music world....

BentoByte Sunday Sounds Volume 25

Artist Spotlight: Chuck Inglish

From the Cool Kids to Ev Zepplin Some may know Evan Ingersoll (known better by his stage name Chuck Inglish) from his debut in the hip hop group known as the Cool Kids. And while the tracks that followed in this debut from The Bake Sale (EP) and When Fish Rode Bicycles (album) were monumental, the fame of the Cool Kids started to fade as the two members went off in pursuit of their own goals. So then the question began. What was next for these artists. If not the Cool Kids, then what? Well, our friend Chuck Inglish has been a bit busy. When he isn’t helping produce tracks he is off making his own...

They span from dance tracks that are at the top of the pop charts all the way to deep house and drum and bass. And since we have been obsessed with it, we think you should be too! Want to be a part of the Sunday Sounds curation or help create your own playlist...

Track Spotlight: Alan Walker’s “Sing Me to Sleep”

For those who do not know, Alan Walker is a Norwegian electronic dance music producer famous for his track “Faded.” After his initial release of “Fade” on the NCS (NoCopyrightSounds) label, and with the mix in with vocals “Faded” blew up. Then it just became a matter of time before everyone was expecting another track. Fortunately for us, it was finally released today. Check out his newest single and video for “Sing Me to Sleep” below: “Sing Me To Sleep” is a solid track. It’s no “Faded”, but it is a decent addition to Alan Walker’s repertoire. With the somber tone of the track and that of the video, the...
