Attack on Titan Season 2 Confirmed for Spring 2017

This is a pleasant surprise. Yesterday we got an official release date for the second season of Kono Subarashii Sekai Ni Shukufuku Wo! (Konosuba). Today we got an even large announcement in that the long awaited Attack on Titan season 2 has been confirmed to be airing in the Spring of 2017. The news that Attack on Titan season 2 would air in the Spring of 2017 is something we had heard before. However, news about the continuation of the main anime series has been scarce to say the least (that news came out almost half a year ago), so we started to be a bit concerned that the series might be behind schedule and...

Konosuba Season 2 Air Date Announced

While no plans have been announced regarding the simulcasting of the series, there’s not a doubt in my mind that we will...

On November 27th at an event celebrating the tenth anniversary of the October 10th premiere of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, news regarding the future of the Code Geass series was revealed. News that wasn’t expect by many and certainly not by myself.  Be warned, some events that are spoilers to the original series are addressed below. The first announcement came in regards to a planned series of Code Geass films. The trilogy of movies will encompass the content of the combined 50 episodes of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 (or at least what they can fit into three movies)....

Nanbaka Season 2 to be Simulcast on Crunchyroll

Interesteing news today coming from the official website for the anime adaptation of Nanbaka. The second season of the series has been confirmed to be a part of the 2017 Winter anime season and will begin airing in January of next year. The more interesting development is just how the show will be airing. From what we’ve gathered, it sounds like Nanbaka season 2 will be airing exclusively online rather than as part of a traditional block on television. The official site also released a promotional image for the second season of Nanbaka which you can see below: While the method of airing in Japan has changed, overseas it doesn’t sound like it’s going...

World Trigger Author Takes Indefinite Hiatus

Bad news for fans of World Trigger. There were bad signs last week when fans found that the series was missing from last week’s issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and apparently the issue from last week has not yet been resolved. It seems that series creator Daisuke Ashihara has been rendered unable to work due to issues with his personal health. While it’s certainly sad to hear that Daisuke Ashihara is in a state where his health is keeping him from work, it’s not entirely surprising as the creator has had issues with his health in the past. Fans might remember that back in September of 2014, Ashihara had to take a week hiatus...

Live-Action Fullmetal Alchemist Trailer Is Here!

Today came the release of our first look into the live-action Fullmetal Alchemist trailer. Now not to point out how terrible the live-action Attack on Titan movie was, I am going to be pretty skeptical about how this movie will turn out. That being said, you can decide for yourself after watching the trailer below: The teaser shows actor Ryōsuke Yamada dressed up as the famous main character Edward Elric and tells us to expect the film in the winter of 2017. So hype or not, expect to see more about this movie in the upcoming months. Below is the official announcement from the Fullmetal Alchemist twitter account.

Ghost in the Shell Trailer Offers a Glimpse at Scarlett Johansson as the Major

We’ve seen bits and pieces of what Scarlett Johansson will look like as the Major, but now we finally have a full trailer for the upcoming Hollywood adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. Visually, the film looks surprisingly good, although it’s hard to say whether Scarlett Johansson can do the role justice or not. One thing worth noting that seems to be making a lot of buzz today with the trailer’s release is that this film is not an adaptation of Stand Alone Complex. Instead, the film will follow the narrative of the 1995 film. For fans of the television anime, that might be somewhat jarring, but it’s good to see Hollywood attempting...
