However, with the trailer that was released earlier this year (included below), we aren’t sure how this will actually turn out. With luck, it won’t be another live-action Attack on Titan.

Shawn Wasabi is Back with “Spicy Boyfriend”

If you read our prior post on Shawn Wasabi you would already know that we are big fans of his work as well as other artists like him. His rhythm on the Midi Fighter 64 is not a skill that a lot of artists have. Which is why some of us flock to his work and watch his YouTube channel like a hawk. After what has felt like forever (since Burnt Rice which was released in 2015) we have been finally graced with a new full track and video to accompany it. Check it out below, called “SPICY BOYFRIEND”. And in the last hour he has released a quick preview of...

The Natural Yeast Bread Hokkaido Cream is about as much of a mouth-full as the name of the snack. This pastry roll was absolutely...

Aooni The Animation Trailer Released

Good news for fans of horror series out there. The upcoming feature film adaption of AoOni (which translates Blue Demon) put out a new trailer today, which you can view below: The feature film will follow an original story line that borrows themes from the source material. And by themes, I mean the basic premise seems to be the same; a bunch of students (and a teacher) get trapped in a close quarters situation with a murderous, strangely-shaped blue monster that’s trying to kill them all. AoOni is something of an internet success story. What began as a freeware horror game available to all on the internet has grown in popularity to the...

December 2016 Bokksu Review

Gotta say, I’m a big fan of the kind people over at Bokksu. They’ve sent us yet another of their Japanese sweets boxes, this one being the December 2016 box. As we’ve mentioned before, Bokksu is a little different in that the focus of the box is to send you sweets and treats from specific regions in Japan. Less focus on what you may find anywhere in the country, more Mom & Pop sweet shop sorts of snacks. So without further delay, let’s jump on in to the review. One more small delay though. I have to mention this every time we get a box from Bokksu; the box and...

Gintama 2017 to Stream on Crunchyroll

A lo! A new year comes along with a anime season! With the Winter 2017 anime season ready to kick off, it’s time to get a bunch of announcements about what is going to be streaming on which service. While the list is nowhere near divided as it used to be since Crunchyroll and FUNimation have become BFFs, it merits a review. In a not so surprising announcement, Crunchyroll has confirmed that it will be streaming the newest season of Gintama. The new season is being called Gintama 2017 since there are so many seasons of the series at this point. Slated to air as part of Crunchyroll’s Winter 2017 line up, the series will premiere...

Attack on Titan Season 2 Confirmed for Spring 2017

This is a pleasant surprise. Yesterday we got an official release date for the second season of Kono Subarashii Sekai Ni Shukufuku Wo! (Konosuba). Today we got an even large announcement in that the long awaited Attack on Titan season 2 has been confirmed to be airing in the Spring of 2017. The news that Attack on Titan season 2 would air in the Spring of 2017 is something we had heard before. However, news about the continuation of the main anime series has been scarce to say the least (that news came out almost half a year ago), so we started to be a bit concerned that the series might be behind schedule and...

Konosuba Season 2 Air Date Announced

Monday’s are usually garbage but I find myself pretty happy on this particular Monday. Naturally so, as the second season of Kono Subarashii Sekai Ni Shukufuku Wo! (known forth as Konosuba) has had it’s premiere date confirmed! The second season of the fantasy, comedy, trapped-in-a-game series will premiere January 12th of 2017 at 1:05 AM JST. All of the voice actors (seiyu) for the main cast of Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness have been confirmed to be returning along with Wiz and Yunyun (who was only featured in the OVA). While no plans have been announced regarding the simulcasting of the series, there’s not a doubt in my mind that we will...

New Code Geass Movies and Possibly a Series Announced

So this is pretty huge news. On November 27th at an event celebrating the tenth anniversary of the October 10th premiere of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, news regarding the future of the Code Geass series was revealed. News that wasn’t expect by many and certainly not by myself.  Be warned, some events that are spoilers to the original series are addressed below. The first announcement came in regards to a planned series of Code Geass films. The trilogy of movies will encompass the content of the combined 50 episodes of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 (or at least what they can fit into three movies)....

Nanbaka Season 2 to be Simulcast on Crunchyroll

Interesteing news today coming from the official website for the anime adaptation of Nanbaka. The second season of the series has been confirmed to be a part of the 2017 Winter anime season and will begin airing in January of next year. The more interesting development is just how the show will be airing. From what we’ve gathered, it sounds like Nanbaka season 2 will be airing exclusively online rather than as part of a traditional block on television. The official site also released a promotional image for the second season of Nanbaka which you can see below: While the method of airing in Japan has changed, overseas it doesn’t sound like it’s going...

Black Butler Film Teases New Images and Promo Video

The official site for the upcoming film for the Black Butler series, Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic, released a smorgasbord of new promotional content today. Included among the list is a new promotional trailer, additions to the cast, a new movie poster, and the plans for a special screening of the film on a cruise ship. That last one really sticks out but I’ll admit is pretty suitable for a series like Black Butler. Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic PV2 by pKjd The new cast includes Ryohei Kimura as Charles Grey, Tomoaki Maeno as Charles Phips, and Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Viscount Druitt. The new image from the official site teases the designs of...
