Bayonetta and Corrin Join Smash Bros Roster

Today marked the final Nintendo Direct that would be entirely focused on Super Smash Bros. for the WiiU and Nintendo 3DS. Considering that previous Nintendo Direct’s focused on Super Smash Bros. ran for over half an hour, it was a pretty safe to assume that this final presentation would be we were going to be getting a lot of information as well as some final reveals for the title. It was a safe assumption. The video revealed two new characters joining the roster, details on Cloud Strife of Final Fantasy VII, and lots of other additions. Let’s start with the biggest surprise; Bayonetta is joining the roster! She looks like she’s going to...

Nintendo World Championships Back After 25 Years

Nintendo has a lot planned for E3 this year, but perhaps the most important thing is the announcement that after 25 years, they will be reviving the Nintendo World Championships. Yes, it’s been a full 25 years since Nintendo originally decided to hold the first and only Nintendo World Championships. If you’re unfamiliar with the Nintendo World Championships, well, I don’t blame you–it was a whopping 25 years ago. You’ve probably still heard of it, though, since there have been a lot of stories in the news over the past couple years about the scarcity of the much coveted Nintendo World Championships cartridges. There were gray and gold cartridges, the...

Street Fighter V Exclusive to PC and PS4, Will Support Cross-Platform Play

Today at PlayStation Experience in Las Vegas, Capcom announced that Street Fighter V will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PC indefinitely. Bad news for anyone that owns an Xbox One, but there is some good news — also announced is that the title will support cross-platform play between PC and the PlayStation 4, which is something you don’t see very often anymore. To celebrate, here are a couple trailers, courtesy of Sony and Capcom. What do you think about this move? Personally, I find exclusivity for such a large franchise a bit silly — but I’m all for cross-platform play. It’s a little bit different when it comes to...

Super Smash Bros’ Duck Hunt Gets a Reveal Trailer

So we’ve known the line up of the new Super Smash Bros. for quite awhile now, but not all of the newest additions have gotten reveal trailer yet. That list gets a bit shorter today, as the Duck Hunt dog (just called Duck Hunt in-game) got a reveal trailer today. A pretty entertaining trailer, in my personal opinion. Even though the 3DS version of Smash Bros came out a few weeks ago, I’m glad that Nintendo is still building hype for the Wii U release. Super Smash Bros. is one of my favorite franchises, and I’m glad it’s still as loved now as it was when the first game launched back...

Nosgoth is Getting Competitive Starting Next Month

Nosgoth is a game that seems to be built for competitive matches, as it is highly dependent on team cooperation. Unlike in most games, in Nosgoth you have to work together as a team because if you don’t you will get absolutely torn apart by your enemies whether that is the humans or the vampires. It makes sense that in an effort to test the waters for eSports, Nosgoth will be partnering with ESL to bring the first ever tournament to the game. The tournament will begin for both North America and Europe on November 9th, with both weekly and monthly competitions featuring prize pools for both. The latest update...

Smite Introduces a Special Halloween Event, It’s Called The Reaping

It’s October, and with October comes Halloween and all the spooky things you could possibly imagine. To celebrate, Hi-Rez Studios is throwing a Halloween event titled The Reaping and it will run from Friday, October 17th to Sunday, October 19th. So what can you expect from this event? Quite a bit, actually. For starters, all gods will be playable for every player — yes, even those without the god pack. All players will also receive double worshippers during the course of the event meaning that you’ll be able to master gods at a much quicker rate. Finally, those who get all of the first win of the day bonuses for...

With His Rework, Sion Gets a Champion Spotlight

With the most recent patch for League of Legends, Sion got a visual upgrade. To accompany that, he’s also been given a Champion Spotlight. If you haven’t played League of Legends in a while, you can get a look at his new abilities in addition to possible combat scenarios. I think I might be revisiting Runeterra very soon.
