One Piece Burning Blood Review

Over the past few years, I’ve been revisiting the anime and manga of my youth. One of the titles that I revisited and have since stuck with is One Piece. There’s a simple reason for that, it’s a damn good story, with damn good writing. The world of One Piece is vast, and so too the breadth of its characters. The story might feature a massive cast of characters, but each and every one of them seems to have a purpose in their grand world. It’s rather fitting, then, that One Piece Burning Blood — the latest video game outing for One Piece fans — would feature a large number of those characters as combatants. By now, you’ve no...

Bayonetta and Corrin Join Smash Bros Roster

Today marked the final Nintendo Direct that would be entirely focused on Super Smash Bros. for the WiiU and Nintendo 3DS. Considering that previous Nintendo Direct’s focused on Super Smash Bros. ran for over half an hour, it was a pretty safe to assume that this final presentation would be we were going to be getting a lot of information as well as some final reveals for the title. It was a safe assumption. The video revealed two new characters joining the roster, details on Cloud Strife of Final Fantasy VII, and lots of other additions. Let’s start with the biggest surprise; Bayonetta is joining the roster! She looks like she’s going to...

North America Release Date for Persona 5 Announced

With little to no presence of Atlus at E3 this year, I was left with the idea that we would have to wait for the latest iteration of Persona until some time in 2015. However, according to the official North American website for Persona 5, Altus USA will be bringing the newest entry in the Persona series stateside later this year. This was a nice little surprise for fans of Persona, as until this point we only knew that the Japanese release date for Persona 5 was slated for later 2015. For those of you unfamiliar with Persona or interested in learning more, here’s a trailer for Persona 5 that has some gameplay and...

The latest trailer for One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 is here, and it offers a look back to the Grand Line. The trailer shows off some of the story and locations you can expect to visit when the game launches here in North America this summer. Inlcuded in the list are Shells Town, Syrup Village, Baratie, Arlong Park, Logue Town, Drum Island, Alabasta, Skypiea, and Enies Lobby. It’s quite the lineup, and I look forward to reliving the early days of One Piece when the game is released here in North America. Dragon Ball XenoVerse Gets a Small Delay

We’re only about a month out from the launch of the latest Dragon Ball game, Dragon Ball XenoVerse, but it looks like you’ll have to wait a little while longer because the game has now been pushed back a week. Instead of the initial release date of February 17, the game will now be released the next week on February 24. According to the press release from Bandai Namco, the decision was made in order to “ensure the highest possible gameplay experience”. Sounds to me like there are a few bugs to be squashed. At least it’s only a week, no harm there. Meanwhile the Steam version will be pushed back a...

Rejoice, Naruto fans, because a new entry in the Ultimate Ninja series is headed your way next year and this time it’s going to hit the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One — a first for the series. There will also be a PC release of course, but the news here is that this will be the first Ultimate Ninja title to see a release on the eighth generation of consoles. The manga might be over, but it’ll be a while before we see the anime catch up and even when it does, Naruto has proven time and time again to be a strong brand for merchandising. Let’s be honest though, at...

Street Fighter V Exclusive to PC and PS4, Will Support Cross-Platform Play

Today at PlayStation Experience in Las Vegas, Capcom announced that Street Fighter V will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PC indefinitely. Bad news for anyone that owns an Xbox One, but there is some good news — also announced is that the title will support cross-platform play between PC and the PlayStation 4, which is something you don’t see very often anymore. To celebrate, here are a couple trailers, courtesy of Sony and Capcom. What do you think about this move? Personally, I find exclusivity for such a large franchise a bit silly — but I’m all for cross-platform play. It’s a little bit different when it comes to...

Digimon All-Star Rumble Review

I have a long history with Digimon — while I don’t pay attention to it as much as I used to, I was a big fan as a kid. I distinctly remember watching the first three series every Saturday morning along with a slew of other shows on Fox Kids which would later become Kids WB. I remember being super excited to see Digimon: The Movie, and when I did — oh, it didn’t disappoint. But I never played a Digimon game, and so I thought Digimon All-Star Rumble would be an excellent point of entry into a franchise that I used to know and love. You see, I’ve heard of...
