Brawlhalla Brawlhalla is a 2D platform fighter much like super smash bros, but different in a few ways. Team Fortress 2: Meet Your Match

“TEAM PYRO!” That’s what you will be hearing kids shouting into their microphones for days to come. Speaking of things to come, the new Team Fortress 2 update has come to Steam and brought with it a new interface for TF2 that might be overwhelming at first glance. So I’m here to make it easier on you!First I should mention is that the miracle workers over at valve created a whole new interface, and it will be the first thing you notice I’m sure. Another change that has come with this update is the introduction to a new matchmaking system. I see it as a glass half full.  A leveling system has...

A Beginner’s Guide to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

Hello! I’m Curtis Huff, an (ex) Competitive Call of Duty player and new writer at BentoByte. As a former competitive player of Call of Duty, I’ve gotten a fair amount of questions about what I do to practice and prep for the game. Like with anything you want to learn to do, you have to start focusing on the basics. So I want to start with simple three point guide to give the most untried players a slight edge in their game play and strategies. As Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is the newest entry in the series at the time of writing, we’re going to use it as the basis for this article. But...

SUPERHOT Review

Before SUPERHOT, there was the SUPERHOT demo, created at a gamejam in 2013. I never played the prototype, but I read a lot about it. It was a first person shooter game where you did more than shoot. The end goal might be the same, but the way that you get there was something different. It wasn’t a game about mowing down your enemies, but a game about patience. Instead of running through levels, you had to stop to slow down time so you could make decisions and dodge bullets. Between the media buzz and the prototype, SUPERHOT garnered enough attention to successfully complete a kickstarter and turn the demo into...

Star Wars Battlefront Review

I will start this out by saying this, I absolutely LOVE the first two Star Wars Battlefront games. They had a bunch of great and refreshing elements, such as the 501st campaign, space battles, galactic conquest, and plenty of maps to choose from. EA’s Star Wars Battlefront has none of those things. I won’t say this is unexpected, given all the press releases that came out about the game. Even though this content was removed, I remained ever hopeful for the new title. What I got on the launch night after downloading the 25 gigabyte game was mixed feelings. It is just like the beta, so all the expectations I had from...

Biohazard Umbrella Corps Trailer Streamed

The official Playstation Japan YouTube channel released the first official trailer for Biohazard Umbrella Corps this Wednesday.  Just in case you’re unaware, Biohazard is the name the Resident Evil series goes by in Japan. The new trailer features some of the weapons and skills players will be able to utilize in Biohazard Umbrella Corps (which will likely be Resident Evil Umbrella Corps overseas). This includes the Zombie Biel, Analog Cover, Zombie Eisen, Zombie Shield, and the Zombie Jammer. The trailer sells the point that Biohazard Umbrella Corps will force players to adapt to fighting in a manner that focuses on quickly changing between ranged and close quarters combat. While the game is certainly set in the Resident Evil/Biohazard universe, Biohazard Umbrella Corps doesn’t seem like...

Killing Floor 2 Early Access Review

A few years back there was a game by the name of Killing Floor that was released on Steam. It was developed by Tripwire Interactive and saw a great deal of success, with good reason. Killing Floor provided gory, unadulterated mutant slaying mayhem for up to four people. The community loved it so much that it even spawned a meme. Fast forward to 2015 and Tripwire Interactive is now hard at work on the sequel which recently hit Steam’s Early Access program. Admittedly, I got into the original Killing Floor a little late. While my friends on Steam had been playing it consistently since the game’s release in 2009, I only started playing...

Nosgoth Going Into Open Beta Next Week

Let’s be honest, Nosgoth isn’t a game that currently has a large barrier to entry. But, if you’ve been waiting to get in on the Nosgoth action, your chance is coming because next week on the 21st the game will finally be going into open beta for everyone to try. That’s right, humans and vampires will be battling it out en mass thanks to what will hopefully be a massive influx of new recruits. If we’re being honest, it’s definitely needed — the matchmaking isn’t the best, so hopefully more people will correct that. In order to prepare for the game’s open beta launch, the servers will go down for...

David Jaffe’s New Game is Called Drawn to Death

The man behind such legendary series as God of War and Twisted Metal revealed his latest creation at PlayStation Experience today in Las Vegas, and it’s called Drawn to Death. The game is an arena shooter developed by his new studio called The Bartlet Jones Supernatural Detective Agency and Sony San Diego. It’ll be exclusive to the PlayStation 4, and while the game is currently in an early state, those of you lucky enough to attend PlayStation Experience will be able to try out the alpha build. If you’re not however, you can check out the game’s website where you can get a wallpaper (pictured above) and sign up for access...

Everything You Need to Know About Far Cry 4, According to Ubisoft

Last week Ubisoft released a trailer for Assassin’s Creed Unity detailing all of the new features and what you can expect going into it. Now they’re doing the same for Far Cry 4, and this time you’ll get a look at the characters, weapons, vehicles, skills and crafting system, Shangri-La, sidequests, co-op and PVP. That’s a lot of stuff! It looks like Far Cry 4 is shaping up to be pretty expansive, I can’t wait to dig in. Far Cry 4 will be available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC next week on November 18.

Blizzard is Working on a New Game, It’s Called Overwatch

Blizzard is a company that’s done a lot over the years, going from genre to genre. Now they’re about to mix it up again and enter a new genre with their latest title — Overwatch. The game is set to be a team-based multiplayer shooter and will feature what some are calling Pixar-like graphics. As you might imagine, the game will be PvP and have multiple characters each with their own weapons and abilities. Overwatch will enter beta sooner than you think starting in 2015, and as of right now you can opt-in for your chance to partake. The game is supposedly a reworked version of the ill-fated Titan’s PvP...

Prey 2 is Officially Cancelled

Remember Prey on the Xbox 360 and PC? I do, because I played it briefly although I didn’t care enough to finish it. It was a game that was announced in 1995 and took years to finish before ultimately seeing a release in the Summer of 2006. Given the involvement of 3D Realms, it’s probably no surprise — they’re certainly no strangers to overly ambitious projects that take years to fully realize (ahem, Duke Nukem Forever). Unlike Duke Nukem Forever which would be released years later however, the reception of Prey was pretty good. So good in fact, they eventually planned a sequel. Like the original game though, the sequel...

Call of Duty Goes Big Again With Star Studded Trailer for Advanced Warfare

It seems like every year Call of Duty gets more and more ambitious with their marketing, and this time around they’ve provided us with another live action trailer featuring Hollywood talent. This time we’ve got Taylor Kitsch and Emily Ratajkowski — sure they’re no Robert Downey Jr. but it just goes to show what a massive behemoth Call of Duty is even now that several key developers for the series have gone on to form a new studio and create the hit mecha FPS Titanfall. I look forward to seeing the numbers following the release next month, it’s always fun to see if a record gets broken. Call of Duty:...

Far Cry 4 Battle of Kyrat Trailer Showcases Multiplayer

The latest trailer for Far Cry 4 doles out some information as to what you can expect from the multiplayer, and it seems like you’ll either have the choice to play as the Rakshasa or the Golden Path — both of which seem to have completely different styles of play. For the Rakshasa you’ll be using bows, magic and even animals (even elephants) to defeat your foes while the Golden Path relies on more traditional weaponry like guns and vehicles and if we’re being totally honest — doesn’t sound anywhere near as cool. There will be a total of three modes, Outpost, Propaganda, and Demon Mask. They seem to be...
