Ariana Grande Joins the Cast of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

In a press release today it was revealed that Ariana Grande (of all people) will be joining the ranks of characters in the Final Fantasy installment, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. For those who have not heard of it before, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is a free-to-play mobile game that originally debuted (worldwide) in June of 2016.  Ariana herself has stated, “it is an honor for my Pixel Art character and my music to be included in the new “Final Fantasy Brave Exvius” game, a mainstay in the Japanese pop culture, which I absolutely adore.” As an added result, Ariana Grande’s song “Touch It” will be making an appearance in the game. Not the actual...

Hikaru Utada to Return for Kingdom Hearts III Theme

If you’ve played through the main entries in the Kingdom Hearts series. then you know that Hikaru Utada is a big part of the games. Her music has been featured throughout the series, but majority of the games outside of Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II use remixes of the music from those games. It’s a bit of a tradition. If you’ve seen Rogue One recently, then it’s an apt comparison to say that it’s similar to the way Disney is handling the Star Wars franchise. Hikaru Utada is a bit like the crawl and a John Williams score for Kingdom Hearts, which is to say that when Hikaru Utada gets...

God Eater 2: Rage Burst Review

God Eater 2: Rage Burst is a monster hunter-style action RPG that surprisingly has enough variety and tasks to keep you occupied for hours. This was my first time experiencing the franchise’s game and I am glad considering how satisfied I was with the gameplay. Set three years after the events of the original God Eater Burst, you begin your journey as a newly qualified God Eater joining an elite squad known as Blood. For those that are unfamiliar with the game or anime, God Eaters are super-soldiers who wield powerful weapons known as God Arcs used to battle and destroy monsters known as Aragami. Thankfully you are able to dive...

Final Fantasy VII Gets A New Trailer

Today at the Playstation Experience in San Francisco, came the release of the following trailer for the remake of Final Fantasy VII. All we can say is that the future of this overhaul remake is looking rather bright. With dynamic gameplay (still not quite sure how that will pan out comparably to the original) the game holds up to every expectation that the fans currently have of it. It appears, as of now, the combat system / battle camera seems to reflect that of Final Fantasy XIII or Final Fantasy XV. Let’s only hope that this trend continues and they manage to maintain this momentum and that there are not too...

Disgaea 5 Review

The PlayStation 2 was the console that really got me into JRPGs, but for some inexplicable reason I never managed to Disgaea. I know what you’re thinking. “How could you miss out on a series so popular that it’s on the sixth installment?” Yes, Disgaea 5 is actually the sixth game in the series. It’s simple really; I just never got around to it. Not even on the PS3, despite the fact that I had heard about the series from a good friend of mine for years. You see, it wasn’t until 2013 that I got back into JRPGs after forgetting about them entirely for a substantial part of my life and by that time it was too...

Persona 5 Delayed, But There’s a New Trailer

Bad news for fans chomping at the bit to get their hands on Persona 5, it won’t be here until next year in 2016. You heard that right, Persona 5 is getting delayed, and yeah, it’s kind of a bummer. Thankfully, however, there’s a new trailer for you to check out with your eyes to soften the blow. This news comes via an announcement from a trailer for the game published by ATLUS earlier this morning. Persona 5 will be delayed for both Japan and North America. So what do you do until next year to get your Persona fix? Well, there’s always Persona 4: Dancing All Night, which is still on the way to North America later this...

ATLUS Details Stella Glow Launch Edition

Stella Glow is on the way from ATLUS this November, and like many ATLUS titles, there will be a Stella Glow launch edition for the people that pre-order or pick the game up nice and early. The launch edition will feature the following items, as per the press release: Hilda’s Crystal Garden Cloth Poster – This is a large poster made of cloth (so it won’t permanently crease by being folded in the package!) that features the striking image of Hilda, the Witch of Destruction posing with her scythe atop a seat of crystals. Bubu Flexi-Charm – Bubu is the pet pig of the Witch Popo, and hopefully by now you’ve insinuated that it’s super...

NIS America Brings Arland Atelier Trilogy Together

If you missed out on the Arland Atelier trilogy when it was being released on the PS3 like I did, you’ll be happy to know that NIS America is now bringing the Arland Atelier trilogy together in one package for the flat price of $39.99. Like the earlier Disgaea Triple Play Collection, The Arland Atelier Trilogy brings three PS3 games together for one low price, making it an easy way to get into the Atelier series. The Arland Atelier Trilogy will feature Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland, Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland, and Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland. All three games will be included on one disc, again similar to the Disgaea Triple Play Collection. The value is real here,...

Bethesda Review – The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim

This is the second article in my Bethesda game review series. Be sure to check out my first review for Fallout 3 here. The Elder Scrolls, this phrase says a lot, the start of a long running and legendary series. The titles that led us into Bethesda’s golden age. From Arena to Online it’s fair to say the Elder Scrolls has had a pretty smooth ride up the most popular games of all time. In my opinion the fifth installment in this series, Skyrim, has easily gotten the most praise of any of it’s predecessors (and even of it’s successor). Now I can’t say I’ve played all of the Elder...

Final Fantasy XV Gets Worldwide Launch

The upcoming video game Final Fantasy XV has been long awaited, even when it was originally known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII way back in 2006. In 2013, the game was renamed to the name it has today to much hype. During Gamescom last week, game director Hajime Tabata shared a bit about what is taking the game so long and what work needs to be done. “This may be something that we are [a] little bit embarrassed to talk about, but really, this is the first time that we’ve done a packaged, standalone Final Fantasy game with a simultaneous global launch, so we didn’t have the setup to deal with that, really.” [source]...
