According to an image leaked on NeoGAF (shown at the bottom of the article) and now officially from Nintendo, the release date of Nintendo’s New 3DS, the newest version of the Gameboy 3DS, has been revealed. The New 3DS is set to be released on February 13th, 2015. Alongside this announcement came the reveal of the Majora’s Mask 3D edition 3DS XL as well! Nintendo included a quick video showing off the the features and the design. And we have to admit, it looks great!

For those of you who haven’t been paying attention and might be interested in the New 3DS, here is a list of a few of the things that are being upgraded with the new handheld. It will include:

  • An additional stick known as the C-stick along with ZR and ZL shoulder buttons
  • Facial camera tracking which improves the player’s line of sight when using it
  • Automatic brightness adjusting
  • A Near Field communication system so it can interact with Amiibo figurines
  • A better CPU and a change to Micro-SD card storage
  • An integrated web browser

If any of these help to entice you to snag a New Nintendo 3DS, then I would be ready to reserve or order one soon so you can grab your handheld on Feb. 13.
