This morning we finally got some word on when we could expect the second season of Noragami. According to the July issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine the new season is titled Noragami Aragato and will be airing this Fall. The magazine also announced that a teaser for the new season will be released on June 6th and that the cast for the series will be gathering together for a Noragami Aragato event August 8th. From what’s been said the new season will be focused on the Bishamon arc of the manga, which makes me pretty excited. Bishamon was certainly part of the first season but didn’t really get that much attention.
For those that haven’t watched the first season, I did a review of it awhile back and you can check it out on FUNimation or Netflix. To give you an idea of what the series is about, here’s a synopsis provided by FUNimation:
Yato may just be a minor god now, but he’s determined to make it big and he’s got a plan. Unfortunately, things just don’t seem to be going his way. He doesn’t have a single shrine dedicated to him, his partner has just quit, and now he’s got to find a new divine weapon. Just when things look bleak, he meets a girl named Hiyori and changes her life forever.
