Bad news for fans chomping at the bit to get their hands on Persona 5, it won’t be here until next year in 2016. You heard that right, Persona 5 is getting delayed, and yeah, it’s kind of a bummer. Thankfully, however, there’s a new trailer for you to check out with your eyes to soften the blow. This news comes via an announcement from a trailer for the game published by ATLUS earlier this morning. Persona 5 will be delayed for both Japan and North America.
So what do you do until next year to get your Persona fix? Well, there’s always Persona 4: Dancing All Night, which is still on the way to North America later this month. We’ll have a review for that soon, but in the meantime you can check out the new trailer for Persona 5 above. As for the actual release date? Well, it might be a while. The new target seems to be Summer 2016, with no definitive date. Bummer!
There is some good news, though. According to the press release and a message posted on facebook by ATLUS USA, the game was delayed “in order to make sure the next iteration of the Persona series lives up to the expectations of fans.” One can only hope that a few seasons will offer a sufficient amount of polish.
